Date
June 2024
Description
An archaeological metal detector survey was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2024 in advance of the construction of a new house and associated infrastructure on land 75m south of Guisachan, Blackpark Farm, Westhill, Inverness. The requirement arose as the development site is located within the known extent of the Battle of Culloden and at a crucial location within the battle's events. Archaeologists used metal detection equipment to survey an area of 1,577m². No significant finds were identified. As such, no further archaeological work was proposed in relation to the development area. <1>
