EHG6317 - Trial trenching - new house plots, Daviot Church, Daviot

A trial trenching evaluation was undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group in 2024 at land 100m west of Daviot Church, Daviot, Highland as part of a planning condition for the development of eight housing plots and associated infrastructure. The archaeological evaluation was required as the site sits within a wider, multi-period landscape with the potential for undisturbed archaeological features and/or deposits within the development area. Eighteen trenches comprising a total of 1,341m² were excavated within the development area. The evaluation revealed no archaeological features or deposits. Due to the absence of archaeological features, no further archaeological work was recommended. <1>
