EHG6359 - Walkover survey - proposed housing development - Lochaline, Morvern

A desk-based and walkover archaeological survey were undertaken by J.G. Robertson in 2025 in an area of land 70m East of Dunaline, Lochaline, Morvern, Lochaber, prior to the construction of ten dwellings by Morvern Community Development Company Ltd. (MCDC). The survey was carried out as required by a condition imposed on planning permission. Six archaeological sites were recorded: Site 1, was a fragment of a stone wall, relating to the construction of the B849 road from Lochaline to Drimnin; three sites, Sites 2-4, were of relatively recent construction and recorded for information only; Sites 5 and 6, a probable 19th century post and wire fence and fenced enclosure respectively, were no longer extant. <1>
