Technique(s)
Organisation
Highland Archaeology Services Ltd
Date
June 2015
Description
A walkover survey was undertaken by Highland Archaeology Services in 2015, along the route of a proposed new run of river hydro-electric scheme near Achnashellach. The majority of the route lay within the old estate of Achnashellach Lodge, and had been managed for leisure and utilities. All features recorded were related to this activity: landscaped ponds, footbridges, and the remains of a former hydro-electric scheme. This included pipework and powerhouse buildings representing two phases, both of which had been redundant for some time.
