EHG791 - Walkover survey - Braegrudie Common Grazings, Highland
Technique(s)
Organisation
Stuart Farrell
Date
June 2002
Description
A rapid walkover survey was carried out by S Farrell in 2002 at Braegrudie Common Grazings, Sutherland, to identify any archaeological sites that lay in the area of a proposed Woodland Grant Scheme. Two areas were surveyed as extensions to a larger area already examined previously (see EHG4449). Some parts of the new extension areas were not walked as they were inaccessible due to being very wet. No additional sites were found in the westermost area but five new sites were found in the easternmost, of which four were actually outwith the extension area but still within the overall WGS. <1>
Note: although these were supposed to be extensions to the area walked in the earlier survey, the plan in the report does not show the previous area to be quite the same as in the report for that survey. In addition, the eastern area does not join the main area completely [IS-L 17/11/2014].
