Technique(s)
Organisation
University of Cardiff
Date
After the spring
Description
Preliminary excavation was carried out of a lithic scatter revealed by forestry ploughing in an area of blanket peat below the Hill of Oliclett. The investigations concentrated on the upturns from the ploughing. A metre of soil was removed from the upturns at one metre intervals and sieved. Lengths of two furrows were then cleaned back to record the full soil profile. Over 1100 lithics were recovered during the work. <1>
