(Centred NH 614 932) Cairns (NR)
OS 6" map, Sutherland, 2nd ed., (1907)

On the top of Drumliath, near the NW end, are some large heaps of stone, probably ruins of contiguous huts. Two of these heaps measure 28ft in length by 16ft in width.
RCAHMS 1911, visited 1909.

At NH 6142 9326 on a shelf on an afforested N slope is a stone-walled hut measuring c. 10.m NNW-ESE by c. 8.0m between wall centres, the wall being spread to c. 2.5m all round. A gap in the ESE marks the entrance. Around the hut are the 'large heaps of stone' referred to by RCAHMS. They are stone clearance heaps, probably of contemporary plots.
Surveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (I S S) 25 September 1973.

No change.
Visited by OS (J B) 8 September 1980.
