NH 605 929. A mound of stones about 25 to 30ft across and about 4ft high. Possibly a cairn.

At NH 6065 9298, on a sloping shelf on a SW-facing wooded hillside, is an irregularly-shaped pile of bare rubble stones, about 11m across and 1.4m high. It is situated in the angle of two consumption dykes which appear to be part of a larger system of post-medieval /early modern fields; the dykes are of similar-sized stones to the mound and merge with it at the NW and NE tangents, and these sides of the mound are flattened. There is no trace of any kerb stones.
There are a number of small clearance heaps in the vicinity, and the mound may be one of these, contemporary with the consumption dykes, but if so, it is unusually large. Alternatively, it may be a cairn utilised in the pattern of fields, onto which stones have been added.
Surveyed at 1:2500. Visited by OS (N K B) 5 November 1982.
