ND01NW 38 01 18.
In the valley of the Helmsdale, on the north side of the valley about two and a half miles from the sea above the junction of the Alt Chaen with the Helmsdale, is a broch.
J Anderson 1873.
The site of this 'broch' was not encountered during field investigation. It may refer to the northernmost of a group of enclosures about 500m NW of Caen of the W side of the burn (see ND01NW 29).
Visited by OS (J L D) 9 June 1960.

Site of possible broch in Kildonan parish, Sutherland, 4km (2.5 miles) from the sea and on the north side of the valley; no trace of a broch was observed in 1960 [1], and the report may refer to some enclosures c. 500m north-west of Caen [1].
