Monument (to Captain Slater RN) OS 6"map, Caithness, 1st ed 1872
A small monument erected close to the place where Captain Slater, who was in charge of the Admiralty Survey of this coast 'some years ago' committed suicide by jumping off the cliff into the sea. The place has been called "Slater's Loup", since that time.
