Full Description

Eilean nan Ron (centred NC 638 652): inhabited until the 1930's consisted of six crofts and a school.
The houses are now in a semi-ruinous condition.
The island has been occasionally occupied since the original evacuation. Information from Mr J Mackay, Skerray.
Visited by OS (JB) 10 October 1978.

The township comprising two unroofed and sixteen roofed buildings is depicted on the 1st edition OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet viii). The township is shown as ten unroofed and four roofed buildings on the current OS 1:10,560 map (1961).
