Full Description

NC73SE 18 792 344.

Centred on NC 792 344, along a westerly-facing slope, is a settlement of three hut-circles (A-C) in association with a field system. The latter, about 10 hectares area, is mainly denoted by heaps of stone clearance, spaced at closest 15-20.0m apart, with occasional lynchets apparent; one or two cultivation plots 10.0m by 15.0m are discernible. The huts are much reduced but seem of a similar type. Internal diameters, in order 'A'-'C' are 8.5, 7.5 and 11.0m; all have simple entrances from SE. Walls survive at best, in huts 'A' and 'B', as low, peat-silted spreads 2-2.5m broad; in huts 'C', levelled into a slight slope, the wall is indefinite. Hut 'B' has been broken through in the NW arc.
Surveyed at 1:10,560.
Visited by OS (J M) 18 February 1977.
