Full Description

NC70SE 44 7505 0490

An enclosure of uncertain date and purpose situated on a knoll adjacent to a marshy valley and on the edge of an area of pasture. It measures 4.6m in internal diameter within a turf-covered wall varying from 0.6m thick in the SW to 2.4m in the NE. The wall is faced inside and out with stones on edge; in this respect it resembles a hut circle. There are three gaps in the NW, SW and E; any or all could be entrances. Possibly associated with a nearby depopulated township (NC70SE 2). Visited by OS 3 December 1975.
