Full Description

NC70SE 45 7576 0130 and 7577 0132

These two circular enclosures, shown on OS 1:10,000 map, (1970), are merely ruined sheepfolds.
Visited by OS 17 November 1975.

A DBA and walkover survey was carried out by Wordsworth Archaeological Services in 1997 advance of a proposed woodland grant scheme at Morvich, Sutherland.

2 drystone enclosures sited on either side of the path as shown are thought to be post-medieval in date. A third slighter enclosure lies to the SW. They have been described as 'ruined sheepfolds', though this may not be correct. They presumably formed part of the settlement at Site 1/16. <1>

NGR adjusted based on 1999-2001 vertical aerial photographs. <2>
