Full Description

At NC 7864 3855 and NC 7858 3858, in a SW-facing hillside, are two similar huts (A and B respectively). The only signs of associated cultivation are scattered mounds of stone clearance, and cleared stone-free ground.
'A' is 10m by 9m internally, scarped into the hill- slope. This scarp, maximum height 1m, is retained by an inner face of boulders. In the remaining half the wall is more or less reduced to interior level, but base slabs of inner and outer facing in the northerly side of an entrance from the SSW, the last on line of longer axis, gives a wall width at that point of 1.3m.
'B' is about 15m diameter over a wall practically reduced to interior level; an entrance is probable from the S. The hut is substantially levelled up on, and slightly set into the slope, and some boulder-slab revetting is visible in base exterior in W half.
Surveyed at 1/10,560. Visited by OS (J M) 24 February 1977.
