Full Description

NC76SW 17 74 63.

A Class 1 symbol stone - 'a stone with a serpent on it' - previously unrecorded, is reported by Miss MacGregor, sister of the minister of Farr, who says 'The stone has, I think, been built into wall of a barn at Kirtomy (NC 74 63) from whence it could not be taken without trouble and expense. There is a man in Kirtomy named George MacKay who thinks he knows where stone is to be found. I have never seen it.' In spite of the last statement Miss MacGregor made a sketch of stone and sent it to Rev Dr Joass of Golspie.
