Achnidale: Shown as a group of about five buildings with arable.
W Roy 1747-55.

An area of depopulation with the footings of 10 buildings, and small enclosures and 1 kiln. The buildings vary from 10 x 3m to 28 x 3m. Visited by OS (J B) 18 October 1976.

A township comprising nine unroofed buildings, four enclosures and part of a head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879, sheet lxxvii). Twelve unroofed buildings, seven enclosures and part of a head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,560 map (1962).
