Full Description

Unannotated circle. OS 6"map, (1962)

This feature, situated on the crest of a ridge over-looking the river terrace of the Naver, is a well-preserved hut circle. It measures 9.2m ENE-WSW by 8.4m within a wall showing intermittent facing stones. The wall is up to 0.5m high and generally 1.4m wide, but expanding to 2.8m at the entrance in the SSE, flanked by portal stones. The position of the entrance on the shorter axis of the hut is unusual.
To the west is a minor field system of about one hectare in area, chiefly defined by clearance heaps, with a few lynchets also visible. A small number of irregular plots are evident, one measuring 30m by 20m.
Surveyed at 1:10 000. Visited by OS (J B) 21 July 1977.
