Full Description

NC75NW 80 7101 5625.
On the gentler east facing slope above the steep slopes of Strathnaver, is a well preserved hut circle. It measures 10.5m east- west by 9.5m within a heather covered wall generally spread to 2m wide and 0.6m in average height. The wall widens slightly at the entrance in the east where an outer portal stone and an inner facing stone give a wall width of 2m. Probable contemporary field clearance heaps, 10-15m apart and a few lynchets cover about one hectare to the east of the huts. No measurable field plots are discernible. Part of this area, covered by turf and bracken in constrast to the general heather cover, appears to have been cultibated in more recent times.
Surveyed at 1:10000. Visited by OS (J B) 4 December 1978
