Full Description

NC70SE 33 766 030.

NC 766 030. A settlement of three oval huts ('A' - 'C'). Hut dimensions are between wall centres.
'A', ill-preserved, is 12.0m N-S by 9.0m. A slight depression in S arc may indicate an entrance.
'B', built up and levelled into a W-facing slope, is 11.0m N-S by 10.5m. The E arc is visible as a scarp with no trace of walling. There are breaks in the N and S arcs, of which the latter seems a likely entrance. 'C' is 12.0m N-S by 10.0m, with an entrance in the S.
A field wall about 20.0m to the N of hut 'B' and aligned E-W on the slope seems contemporary but may be dated with a rectangular later-type footing, 7.0m by 2.0m, lying about 6.0m to the S of hut 'B'. There are no other indications of contemporary cultivation.
Surveyed at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (J M) 31 July 1975.
