Full Description
NC70NW 54 7185 0591.
At NC 7185 0591, in the margin of crofting settlement abandoned in the 18/19th century, is a heather-covered hut circle, measuring 7.5m in diameter within a wall spread to 2.5m and 0.4m high. The entrance is in the SE. There is no evidence of associated cultivation.
Surveyed at 1:10,000. Visited by OS (J M) 19 May 1981.
This heather-covered hut-circle comprises a platform measuring 6.6m in diameter which is levelled into a gentle slope on the SE flank of Cnoc Dubh. There are fragments of a bank measuring 1.5m in thickness and 0.3m in height on the W and E sides and a depression in the lip of the platform on the SSE, which may indicate the position of the entrance.
