Full Description

Set into the lower S-facing slopes of Strath Fleet, is a largely turf-covered hut circle. It measures 8.0m in diameter within a wall spread to 2.0m and 0.5m high internally. The wall has been reduced in two places by a sheep track. The simple entrance is in the S. There is no evidence of contemporary cultivation in the area. Some 20.0m to the S where road reconstruction has sectioned the ground, lumps of slag occur at the junction of the old land surface and the peat. Owing to its close proximity to the hut it can be suggested that the slag and hut are associated.
Surveyed at 1:10 000 Visited by OS (J B) 23 October 1980.
