Full Description
Running parallel to the ruinous west wall of an enclosure around Craggan are the remains of another dyke.
There was possibly a 12m square enclosure at the north east end just south of the Alt Mhic Neacail at NJ 0986 2788. Initially this was thought to be narrow to be a stone dyke with the stone being re-used from the enclosure wall as levelling stones for a wire fence. However this wall line extended to the south west as a bank and ditch as illustrated on the current OS map. From NJ 0958 2754 the bank and ditch was observed running almost due west to the burn at NJ 0945 2760. This would appear to define a field to the west, though there are no obvious signs of cultivation in the heather moorland to the west. <1>
