The NGR given by the RCAHMS lies to the north west of Loch Ewe, so that in the Highland Council Maritime Databsae has been preferred.

1926. The position for the wreck of the HIXIE 49 is given as 57 00 00N, 005 49 00W, or 365 to 460 metres north of Mallaig Vaig Bay.
