Full Description
NH89NW 13 814 969.
A bloomery has existed at Loch Unes (NH 814 969) where the slag is partly heavy and partly light. Some has clay attached and in some cases flints are found among the slag.
W I Macadam 1893.
No trace of this bloomery was found around Loch Unes, which is a shallow loch surrounded by forestry.
Visited by OS (J B) 10 December 1980.
