Full Description

NC36NE 28 384 680.

(NC 3843 6811) Ruined hut circle in blown sand, overall 16 1/2 ft. Information from Dr C S Sandeman, Durness, 14 March 1967.

A circular structure in a sand-blow. Well-preserved stone dykes are also present below the soil surface.
R W K Reid 1968.

This hut circle was not located in the area of sand dunes centred on NC 384 680. There are four irregular stony mounds approximately 5.0m across which are probably field clearance; possibly one of these mounds has been identified erroneously as a hut circle. A rectangular structure has been exposed in a sand dune. Internally it measures 5.7m by 2.7m with a visible height of 0.5m.
Visited by OS (J B) 13 November 1978.
