OS 1:10,000 map, (1970)
Two stone-walled hut circles (A and B) were found during field work. Visited by OS (R D L) 4 July 1963.
The huts are situated in rising moorland open to the SW and are broadly similar in build. Associated agriculture is shown by one or two stone clearance heaps and a single lynchet within an area of smooth stone-free ground. Stones have been dumped along the south fringe of the cleared area. The huts are reduced and completely peat-covered.
'A' the better defined, is about 11.0m N-S by 10.0m internally and an entrance, well-defined, is in the S. The wall is an estimated 1.4m broad and a squarish boulder is visible in the outer face at E side of entrance.
'B' is about 6.0m NW-SE by 5.0m within a wall of vague dimension. An entrance appears to be in the SE and the E side has extended in the form of a wall or bank flanking the approach.
Revised at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (J M) 30 July 1976.
