Full Description
Stone Cup found here AD 1871 (NAT)
OS 6"map, Sutherland, 2nd ed, (1907)
A small stone (steatite) cup was found in August 1871. Supposed to have been associated in time with the broch which is situated near to it (NC02NW 2) as it is of the sort so often found in these buildings. (See NC02NW 2 where a steatite cup was found in the broch - possibly the same cup?)
Name Book 1875.
Not at the NMAS, Edinburgh; there is a large collection of steatite cups at the private museum at Dunrobin Castle, Golspie, Sutherland, and it may well be there.
Information from A S Henshall (NMAS) 28 December 1961.
