Full Description

A possible lamp, pear-shaped, of steatite, found at Nedd (NC 137 318) was donated to the NMAS by A Munro, Nedd, 1967-8.
Proc Soc Antiq Scot 1969.

The find spot of this lamp was pointed out by relative of Mr Munro at NC 1371 3195. It was found whilst he was digging out the foundation for a shed.
Visited by OS (J M) 6 August 1974.

This is likely to be the vessel listed under Acc. No. AQ 130 in the NMS catalogue. This is described as of steatite, truncated wedge shaped in plan, with vertical sides and a groove forming a lip at truncated end. <1>
