Full Description
NC66SE 17 6872 6167.
(NC 6872 6158) Amorphous stone structure, 6m in diameter, possibly a cairn or hut circle, among sand and dune grass on the surface of the raised beach.
R J Mercer 1980.
There is no trace of a stone structure in the area indicated by Mercer. At NC 6872 6167 on the edge of the raised beach, where the dune cover has eroded, is a pile of stones, 7.0m N-S by 5.0m E-W and 0.5m high, which is still partially covered by blown sand. This may be the feature noted by Mercer, but there is no evidence of a kerb, walling, or any structural remains, and it occurs in isolation.
Visited by OS (N K B) 10 August 1981.
