Full Description
'Acherland': 5 buildings shown W Roy 1747-55.
Oakerland (OS 6" map, 1963) a longhouse, 38 by 4m, largely reduced to a footing but surviving up to 1.6m in the centre. The merest vestiges of three structures lie nearby. In association is wasted walling and banking.
Visited by OS 16 March 1982.
A farmstead comprising an unroofed, long building with an attached enclosure is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1876, sheet xxvii). An unroofed, long building of three compartments is shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,560 map (1963).
