Full Description
A ruined farmstead, formerly called Bualmore, near Broubster.
ND 028 605. Bualmore
A farmstead comprising an upstanding but roofless longhose up to 1.8m high. Adjoinming is an enclosre with lazy beds in the interior. There are thee other ruined buildings, two of which incorporate kilns. Traces of rig and furrow occur in the area.

A farmstead comprising three unroofed buildings, one of which is a long building, and three enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet x). One unroofed building and three enclosures are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1987).

The buildings, enclosures and other features are visible in LiDAR data gathered by AOC Archaeology in 2011 as part of the mitigation for the visual impact on the archaeological landscape associated with the proposed Baillie Hill windfarm, Caithness. The features were not identified in the initial data analysis an therefore are not recorded/listed in the project report. <1>
