Full Description
A farmstead or dispersed township called ' Clashmore' or 'Clais Mhor' is shown on the OS 1st Edition 6" map. <1>
NOTE: the site was previously recorded as 'Shieling hut' with no corroborating evidence [ISL-13/08/2026].
The area was afforested in the C20 but remains of several of the buildings are visible in vertical aerial photography especially following tree felling. Building remains are noted at: NGR 322192 940065, 322232 840110, 322560 939532, 322561 939527, 322526 939254 and 322509 939228. <2> <3>
