Full Description
What may be the site of a third crannog in Loch Ruthven lies about 130m from the shore at c.NH 6065 2753. At the time of visit a few stones could be seen from the shore, to break the surface of the loch. Fishermen who use the loch stated that there was a shallow area or 'underwater island' at that point which they used for an anchorage while fishing in relatively shallow water. The water level at the time of visit was fairly high. (R.B.Gourlay: June 1983).
