Full Description
An enclosure is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1876-81, sheet ix), but it is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1992).

A small enclosure marked only on the OS 1st Edition 1882 OS map was probably a sheepfold. The main settlement at Culligran on Roy's map lay just to the S of this.

Verical aerial photography and Scot Gov/SEPA LiDAR data show this encosure to be only one of a number of possibly associated earthwork dyked enclosures in this area, presumably part of a wider agricultural landscape but more likely to be part of the former township of Culligran as shown by Roy, with MHG22926 to the northwest and MHG63917 to the northeast. <1> <2>
