27 July 1970. The steam trawler EAMONT was bombed by German aircraft. One of the bombs fell into the wheelhouse failing to explode, hence the vessel was abandoned and drifted ashore 55 metres north of Latheron Wheel Harbour and became a total loss. There was no report of the bomb being removed.

The wreck's position is given as 58 16 30N, 003 22 00W approximately.
17 May 1972. The record card cancelled on 12 January 1967 gives the wreck's position as 58 15 00N, 003 26 00W, but this plots inland.
