16 October 1970. At Neist Point, large anchor chains have been located in 11 metres (exact position not known). The lighthouse keeper suggests the name DORRICK (cannot trace) for a vessel lost on point at the turn of the century located by divers during the summer of 1970.

En route from Liverpool to Stettin, the Norwegian steamship DORIS ran onto rock at Neist Point on 12 July 1909. She was built in 1900 by Wood, Skinner of Newcastle, engine by N E marine of Sunderland.
The wreck was located in 1970 close in to the south east corner of the Neist promontory, below the lighthouse on Neist Point.
The wreck is steel, with an iron propeller and is now completely broken up, lying on a slope of rock and sand in 6-24m of water.
