Full Description
'Marshall. Type 9c, 6 domed bosses each with cross-hatching, the interspaces decorated with incised lines following the shape of the bosses and a central dot. Found 6ft down in a peat moss during hand cutting of peat in about 1910 by a farm worker. In private hands.' <1>
Photos of the stone were sent to Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery for identification in 1986. There are copies of the correspondance in the Inverness Museum archives. <2>
