9 August 1976. A new wreck was located at 57 41 48N, 003 52 30W. The position was fixed by Moray Firth hi-fix chain(u)patt1 165.20 patt2 139.17 and decca(u)n scot.chain red i06.85 purple a69.80. The site was examined by close sounding, side scan sonar and a transit sonar search. The least depth over the wreck by echosoudner was 21.8 metres. The general depth of the sea bed by echosounder was 23.6 metres. The sea bed is of fine sand amd broken shell. The depth datum was taken from Burghead or 2.10 metres below Ordnance Datum. The wreck lies with its keel on an orientation of 045/225 degrees and is about 30 metres long. These readings were obtained from two directions (one at 400 feet range) during the sonar area search. The site was located on 23 June 1975 and examined on 22-29 July 1975.
