Full Description
A survey of the archaeological and historic features was undertaken within Abernethy Forest Reserve for the RSPB in 1995.
A rectangular building platform was found near the perimeter wall of Rynettin. It consisted of a platform dug into the slope, 1.9m N/S, 6.8m E/W with some sandstone coursing built into the slope remaining on the western side. This appears to represent a modern outbuilding associated with the present farmhouse as it is visible as a roofed structure on the 1:10,000 OS map, but is not on the 19th. Century maps. <1>
Note: Site not visible on aerial photographs so location based on grid coordinates. (TB 18/2/26)
