Full Description

A turf-walled enclosure on the S bank of the Morven Burn containing on the flood plain to NE a sub-rectangular, turf-covered mound about 9m square with some stone exposed. On higher ground to the W is a rectangular building with a SE annexe measuring 5m N-S by 9m E-W overall. To the W of this is another rectangular building, 4m N-S by 2m E-W, set in a circular hollow 8m in diameter. Further W close to the turf dyke are traces of another rectangular building 3m E-W by 4.5m N-S. I W Stuart 1973; OS 6" map, annotated by I W Stuart.

At ND 002 267, on a dry rise on S side of Morven Burn, is a shieling site comprising at least 5 oval or sub-rectangular huts built of turf, all within an associated enclosure bank around the rise.
Surveyed at 1:10,000. Visited by OS (N K B) 26 October 1982.

An enclosure is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xli), and is also shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,560 map (1963).
