Full Description
The limekiln recorded here in 1871 was not shown on the later OS map of 1901. Most of the farms on the Grant estates had these kilns, being encouraged to build them by the estate in the late 18th/early 19th century. It survives as a shapeless stony mound c1.5m high by 5m in diameter. No sign of walling or facing is evident, though this may be sealed within the rubble. <1>
