Circumstances of Loss Details

The ASHBURY was on route from Workington to the Tyne when is foundered with the loss of all crew (42 persons). It ran aground and foundered near the Black Rocks, Talmaine Skerries, at the mouth of the Kyle of Tongue.

Surveying Details

27 February 1970. The wreck was located at 58 32 48N, 004 24 32W lying in 21.3 metres.
Repoprt by R D Muir esq.
1981. The divers reported that all the hull and superstructure appear to be in fairly good condition in the Summer of 1981.
