Full Description
In the margin of damp ground in open moorland, is a U-shaped burnt mound. It measures 9.0m across the open end by 9.0m transversely and is 0.4m high. A thick heather cover prevents exploration of the core content.
Surveyed at 1:10,000. Visited by OS (J M) 15 December 1981.
This site was visited by RoCAS during a 2012 DBA and walkover survey on behalf of the Forestry Commission Scotland. Under grasses and heather was a U-shaped, oval bank aligned northeast to southwest, which has been interpreted as a burnt mound. It measured 12m long by 8m over banks spread 3-4m and standing up to 0.7m high. The opening to the east measured 2.5m wide. <1>
