Monitoring of developer's foundation trenches was conducted across the remains of a house or byre of possible medieval origin. Two trenches, both 0. 6m in width were hand excavated by SUAT. The first trench was located in an area already reduced to the natural coarse sand. The second trench revealed, below 0.2m of topsoil, the western foundation wall of the structure and part of a possible earthen floor. This deposit may also represent a bedding layer for a paved floor surface. Pottery found in association with the foundation wall indicates a construction dated of no earlier than the 18th century.
