Bishop's Palace (NR) (Site of) OS 6" map, Caithness, 2nd ed. (1907)
The site of residence of Bishop Adam, one of ancient bishops of Caithness, who was burned in a small house adjacent by a mob who were enraged because of some additional taxes that the bishop was imposing on them. This took place on 13th September 1222.
Name Book 1872.
No confirmation of this site was obtained locally. Nothing is visible on the ground.
