Full Description
Former fishing station and wool Store at Meanish Pier, Glendale, Skye.
The building was listed at Category B in 1989.
Meanish Pier and wool store/herring station, early 19th century. Once the hub of daily comings and goings, a solitary sight today, belying the relatively densly populated character of the mouth of the Hamara. <1>
The remains of two smaller, associated, buildings lie to the northwest and west, which are considered curtilage listed. There are also the earthwork remains of at least one other building to the immediate south of the main building and earthworks of other buildings between the main building and the two smaller buildings, which do not appear on any OS map editions. <2>
