'Down Carranach ... built quite round of dry stone'. (Possibly NG94SW 1) (W Macfarlane's Geog. Coll. I. 1906 {Ph. Minister 1727})

No further information. Local opinion was that this site was unlikely to be Strome Carranach as the word "Carranach" means simply "of Carron". Visited by OS (W D J) 21 October 1966.
