Full Description
Longhouse: recorded during May 1993 ahead of felling mature trees. Full details are lodged with Dualchas, Skye and Lochaish Museums Service.

A unroofed building is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Isle of Skye 1881, sheet xxv) and on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1988).

An Archaeological Survey of the townships of North & South Screapadal, with a survey of the surrounding area, on Raasay was undertaken by ACFA in 1997.
Feature 18; House . This is an easily missed site due to the very degraded remains lying 15m to the west of the forest road, on a natural widening of the terrace on which the road runs. It may have been another longhouse similar to several of the features noted above. It lies on a southeast to northwest axis and appears to have measured up to 12m by 6m. The only clearly defined feature is a square stone base at the southeast end, which may have been the foundation layer. There are slight remains of the curved wall at the northwest end. As well as the disturbance to be expected in an old forest site boulders from the adjoining cliffs to the west have also caused serious damage. <1>
