Full Description
A small polished stone axe is in the possession of Mr R Lillie, Tofts of Tain. It was found some time ago when a trench was being dug through an area which had been covered with hard-core. It weighs 155gms and measures c. 11.5 x 6 x 2cms. It is completely covered with a cream coloured patina but two small chips at the top of the cutting edge show that the core is very dark with a slight greenish tinge.
CFC 1982.
